Semaglutide GLP-1

Semaglutide injection

It belongs to a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. GLP-1 is a hormone naturally produced in the gut that helps regulate blood sugar levels. Semaglutide works by mimicking the effects of GLP-1, which helps to lower blood sugar levels and reduce appetite. Direct Preventive Care is partnering with pharmacies to offer semaglutide that uses the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy.

Right now, we are available in Florida. It’s not currently not offered on other states.

Safety warning: Semaglutide carries the risk of severe side effects, such as potential thyroid tumors. Avoid usage if you or your relatives have a background of a thyroid cancer type known as MTC or MEN 2. Read more about serious warnings and safety info.

Get Started with Semaglutide Medication

Semaglutide is a weekly shot that uses the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy.

As an alternative to FDA-approved branded products, where appropriate, a provider may prescribe a drug, which is prepared by a state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacy partner. Although drugs are permitted to be prescribed under federal law, they are not FDA-approved and do not undergo safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing review.

Direct Preventive Care commitment to quality medication

We work with a registered and certified third-party lab to run quality control checks for every lot of semaglutide prescribed for our patients. We test four key characteristics that are associated with quality and safety. Learn more about our quality and safety practices here.

Questions we hear every day

Direct Preventive Care is designed to be more than a telehealth platform, but still simple for our clients. You can start treatment in three easy steps. Complete a medical intake and (if necessary) have lab work done to verify a medical need for treatment. Speak to your new healthcare provider through a telehealth (audio-visual) appointment. If medically appropriate, receive your medication in the mail every 30-days, or 60-days, or 90-days from a mail order pharmacy provider (depending on your provider’s decision). We want to enable you to form a long-term connection with Direct Preventive Care so that we can provide ongoing care for your specific condition. With that in mind, Direct Preventive Care is designed for patients seeking long-term care.

It’s only $300 per month. That includes everything you need, from your online appointment to your medication. There are no hidden-fees or long-term contracts.

Providers on the Direct Preventive Care platform may prescribe up to 2 mg/week (as medically appropriate). If the dose prescribed is above 1mg/week, your monthly subscription price will increase by $100 each month.

Your $300/month membership cost includes a shipment every 60-days or 90-days depending on the product and shipping source, if medically approved. If you would like to receive monthly shipments, we offer alternative programs for an additional $100 per month. Most members choose to utilize our 90-day option for the convenience and cost savings.

Certainly, all medications are prepared in sterile compounding pharmacies
accredited by the State Board of Pharmacy or in FDA-authorized 503(b)
Outsourcing Facilities. We collaborate with pharmacies that are licensed across
all 50 states and use only premium quality ingredients. Clients who have
received medical approval are usually prescribed (Liraglutide / Cyanocobalamin)
or (Semaglutide / Cyanocobalamin) injections. These injections are designed to
be slowly absorbed by the body over the course of a day or week, aiding in the
reduction of hunger and cravings. It’s important to note that any medication
prescribed to you is a compounded medicine and is not connected with Novo
Nordisk™, nor is it related to the brand-name drugs Saxenda®, Victoza®,
Wegovy®, or Ozempic®.

The FDA-sanctioned brand medications, including Saxenda®, Victoza®,
Wegovy®, and Ozempic®, are distributed solely by Novo Nordisk™. Mounjaro®
and Zepbound® are distributed solely by Eli Lilly and Company™. Direct
Preventive Care does not assert any association or endorsement from the
products or corporations. We do not distribute any of the medications, and
individuals interested in these products should consult with their licensed
healthcare provider or pharmacist for alternatives.

Direct Preventive Care specializes in providing compounded medications,
prepared in facilities licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy as sterile
compounding pharmacies or by the FDA as 503(b) Outsourcing Facilities. These
facilities adhere to strict regulations; however, the compounded medications
they produce are not FDA-approved. This is because they are tailored to an
individual patient’s needs based on a prescription from a healthcare provider,
considering factors like strength, dosage, and route of administration. As a result,
it’s challenging to directly compare the efficacy and risk profiles of compounded
medications to those of FDA-approved drugs.

Prescriptions for any compounded drugs are issued based on the medical
judgment of a licensed provider, following a telehealth consultation and review of
the patient’s medical history.

Actual weight loss is dependent on a number of factors but many Direct
Preventive Care clients lose around 5% of their initial body weight. Over 12
weeks, it can be as high as 10%. This equates to a weight loss of 10–20 pounds
for a 200 pound person.

Everyone is different though and the most successful patients also work hard to
make diet and lifestyle changes.

Healthy weight loss is often defined as 1-2lbs per week. Extreme weight loss is
not a medically desired effect.

After your provider has prescribed a GLP-1 Medication, or another weight loss
option, we send your prescription to a licensed compounding pharmacy. It
typically takes 3-4 business days for the pharmacy to process the order which is
then shipped via 2-Day shipping.

Overall, most clients receive their medication within 8-10 business days from
when they speak to their provider.

Please see the above video about performing a subcutaneous injection. Always ask your provider or licensed medical professional if you have any difficulties or
questions.

Patients seeking treatment for GLP-1 programs need to be at least 18 years of age and no older than 75.
